Sucker Rod Coupling

Sucker Rod Coupling

Main Quality

Sucker rod couplings are essential components in rod-pumped applications, designed for secure and durable connections between sucker rods, polished rods, and sinker bars. They are made from high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel to ensure superior performance in demanding oilfield operations.

Description

Sucker rod couplings, polished rod couplings, and sub-couplings are crucial for oil extraction operations. These couplings ensure reliable connections between rods of various sizes. They come in two primary grades:

Sucker Rod Coupling

  • Class T (Through-hardened): Provides enhanced strength and wear resistance.
  • Class SM (Sprayed Metal): Offers additional protection against corrosion and friction-related damage.

Types of Couplings:

  1. Sucker Rod Coupling: Standard couplings with identical box threads on both ends.
  2. Polished Rod Coupling: Designed for connecting polished rods and sinker bars, featuring a vanish cone on both ends.
  3. Sub-Coupling: Also known as a crossover coupling, it connects rods with different thread sizes.

The outer diameter of the sucker rod couplings is available in both full size and slim hole variations.

Classification

The main types of sucker rod couplings are sucker rod couplings, polished rod couplings and sub-couplings.

  • Sucker rod couplings has same box thread size in both end.
  • The polished couplings are designed to connecting polished rod and sinker bars.
  • The sub-coupling is also called cross over coupling. It has different box thread size in both end.
Sucker Rod Coupling

Sucker rod coupling has same box thread size in both end.

Sucker Rod Coupling

Sub-coupling has different box thread size in each end.

Sucker Rod Coupling

Polished rod coupling has the same box thread and vanishes cone on both ends.

All the three types have two classes: class T and class SM.

  • The class T stands for Through-hardened.
  • The class SM stands for sprayed metal.

The outer diameter of the sucker rod couplings has a full size and slim hole types…

Features

Sucker Rod Coupling

  • Good corrosion and wear resistance.
  • Black oxide coated for anti-galling and lubricating properties.
  • Automatic flame spray production minimizes the tolerance.

Application

  • The sucker rod couplings are widely used in the oil industries for connection for sucker rods, polished rods, pony rods, and sinker bars.
  • The sucker rod couplings are used for connecting the sucker rod and sinker bars with the same dimensions. But it is not used in the polished rods, which may cause the fracture of the couplings.
  • The polished couplings are designed to connect the polished rod and sinker bars.
  • The sub-coupling is widely used for the connection of different sizes of sucker rods, pony rods, and sinker bars.

Package

    • The sucker rod couplings have two types of packages.
    • In plastic paper and cartons.
    • In a wooden box.
